Notes:

The City of Glendale Fire Department has started a new Basic Life Support (BLS) Program. Currently, the Glendale Fire Department operates nine Paramedic Engines with responses from all nine Fire Stations. Each Paramedic Engine is staffed with two highly trained Paramedics. Additionally, our three Ladder Trucks are authorized and have been designated by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services as Assessment Units (AT) when staffed with a Paramedic. We also have our BLS Ambulances strategically placed throughout the city at Stations 21, 22, 25, 26, 27 and 29 to provide transport. This allows the Glendale Fire Department to provide enhanced Advanced Life Support services to all areas of the city.

The rest of our sworn personnel are trained as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) and provide Basic Life Support services. Their rapid response and assessment of the situation is critical to providing the very best in care to those who access our services. Additionally, Glendale EMT’s are trained in Automatic External Defibrillation and are certified EMT-D’s, which allows rapid cardiac defibrillation to a patient when time is crucial and seconds can be the difference between life and death.
