The City of Los Angeles Park Rangers and Park Patrol Officers provide emergency services in the open space parks in the City of Los Angeles.  The Ranger Division employs Peace Officer Park Rangers, Civilian Park Rangers and Park Patrol Officers.  The Ranger Division provides interpretive programs, emergency medical aid, wildland firefighting, law enforcement and many other services as called upon.  Park Rangers currently patrol Griffith Park, Hansen Dam, Sepulveda Basin, O'Melveny Park, Venice Beach, Point Fermin, Harbor Regional Park, Cabrillo Beach, Elysian Park, Debs Park, Verdugo Mountain Park and other facilities as needed. Park Patrol Officers assist Rangers with many of their duties.
