The City Council has approved the construction of a new police station. The new headquarters building site is the northwest corner of the Civic Center, at the opposite end of City Hall from the existing police building. The facility will house law enforcement functions including a temporary holding jail, communications center, emergency operations center, records, administrative offices, and crime scene laboratory. The project includes construction of an official police parking area and the reconfiguration of staff and customer parking areas for the police station, City Hall, and Library.

Whittier Police Serving the City of Santa Fe Springs

In 1995, Santa Fe Springs contracted out all law enforcement services to Whittier Police. The Whittier Police Department established a Santa Fe Springs patrol division consisting of 28 officers. Also established was a Santa Fe Springs detective bureau, traffic bureau, Problem Oriented Policing Team, a High Risk Warrant Entry Team and a Special Occurrence Response Team (SORT).
